Surprise Hook Videos for Reels, TikTok & Shorts
Surprise hooks open on a moment nobody expects: a fake-out, a sudden fall, something flying at the camera. People stop before they know why they stopped. This is the biggest category in the library, with 75 free clips (live count, October 2026), enough for a different opener on every post for weeks.
Why surprise hooks work
An unexpected moment breaks the rhythm of the feed. If it happens in your first second, people pause long enough to see what your video is about.
Who surprise hooks are for
Good for comedy, lifestyle and entertainment creators, and a safe first pick if you're not sure which mood fits your video.
How to use these surprise hooks
Pick a clip whose twist matches your video: a fake-out before a myth-busting tip, a sudden fall before a "this went wrong" story. Download it free (MP4, no sign-up), put it first in your timeline and cut right after the reveal.
Write the spoken hook for this clip
The surprise gets the stop. What you say next decides if they stay. Write the spoken hook for this clip so the next line gives them a reason to stay.
