Ecommerce & DTC video ideas
Why your product photos aren't converting
Ecommerce & DTC
Hook: “Good product photos and converting product photos are not the same thing.”
CTA: “Save this before your next photoshoot.”
Why it works: Founders spend on good-looking photos, so separating photos that look good from photos that help someone buy makes them look again at their own product pages.
How to film it: Show two photos of the same product side by side and label on screen what the more useful one shows, such as scale, use or detail.
A day fulfilling 50 orders from an apartment
Ecommerce & DTC
Hook: “Here's what fulfilling 50 orders from a one-bedroom apartment actually looks like.”
CTA: “Tag a fellow small business owner who gets this.”
Why it works: Small sellers and customers both like seeing the work behind a brand, and the apartment setting makes it relatable.
How to film it: Film a time-lapse of packing plus a few close-ups, show your real order count on screen as it goes, and keep customer addresses out of frame.
The unboxing detail that gets customers to post about you
Ecommerce & DTC
Hook: “There's one unboxing detail that gets customers to post about you without being asked.”
CTA: “Want ideas for yours? Comment 'unboxing'.”
Why it works: Founders want customers to talk about them, so a small packaging detail they can copy for their next order is easy to act on.
How to film it: Film an unboxing from the customer's point of view, slow down on the detail, and explain in a short voiceover why you added it.

Questions
What should an ecommerce brand post on TikTok and Reels?
Show the product doing its job in the first seconds, then mix in product education, behind-the-scenes (packing orders, sourcing), founder moments and customer reactions. Videos that answer a buyer's hesitation, like shipping, returns or fit, tend to do more for sales than a list of features.
Can we repost customer videos or use them in ads?
Only with the creator's permission. Ask in writing, and ask separately if you want to run their video as a paid ad, because ad use is a separate right. Credit them when you repost organically.
Can a brand account use trending sounds?
On TikTok, business accounts are limited to the Commercial Music Library, which is cleared for brand use; popular songs outside it aren't. Instagram limits music for many business accounts too. When a trend's audio isn't available, use an original sound or a voiceover.
Should we use UGC creators or founder-led videos?
Both have a job. Founder-led videos build trust while a brand is new; UGC-style videos from customers or creators let you test many hooks and angles quickly, often as ads. Our UGC Script Library has ad frameworks by angle to start from.
